Avanti Giro AR

Medium sized mile muncher
Here's something we wish we'd see more of - a gravel bike!
The clkue is in the name: Avanti make a 'Giro' road bike. This is a 'Giro AR'. The 'AR' stands for 'All-Road'.
It's like a road bike - so easy rolling, fast and light... but it has fatter tyres for the bumpy stuff (and comfort), a longer wheelbase for stabillity, and less twitchy handling to make it easy and fun to ride away from sealed tarmac. With some skill, you could easily ride most green MTB trails with one of these, not to mention the hundreds of back roads, fire roads, and forest roads Tassie is blessed with.
This machine has a sturdy alloy frame and carbon fork and hybrid hydraulic disc brakes - the brake calipers are hydraulic, fed by a unit on the handle bars which is linked to the brake levers by old school cables. It sounds more complex than it actually is. It has solid wheels which are better than your average entry level ones, nice new bar tape and 2x11 speed gears. The fitted pedals are 2-sided: one side for clip-in shoes and one side is flat.
Be quick!
