This included being awarded the Clarence City Council Citizen of the Year in 2017 and Tasmanian Local Hero, as part of the Australian of the Year Awards also in 2017

Ant was a Board Member of Together Church between 2005 and 2022, and its treasurer between 2007 and 2022.

He has also been a member of the Risdon Vale Volunteer Fire Brigade since 2012.

Kevin worked for many years in the field of sales and customer service – before moving into industrial design and working in schools with students.

He owned and ran a small business from 2001 - 2010

In 2013, Kevin returned to university to study a Bachelor of Industrial Design. This degree spoke to his natural creativity and problem solving skills

He has then had extensive experience working in schools and with students across a number of schools.

Kevin has leadership experience, managing small teams of staff in retail environments, as well as farm workers, and volunteers in a community organisation.

Anthony studied Science (ecology, botany) at Monash and Melbourne Universities, before working in practical conservation and gardening. He has also worked in outdoor education, including a year at a remote camp in Victoria called Wollangarra.

His guiding ethos is, "Leave the place better than I find it, make the shallowest of footprints, pull my own weight and live with integrity" …and he means it. With his dog Tess in tow, he rides a bicycle everywhere from his home in Pelverata (he rarely used his car, and so sold it). Every decision he makes is filtered through the above statement.

The young people at the Huon Valley Bike Collective see this integrity and they know he’s for real.

To many people in the mountain biking scene, Duncan needs no introduction. He has long been involved in event organisation for huge events like the Hellfire Cup and the Kellevie 24 hours. Duncan also has many years' experience in social services, working in particular with disadvantaged young people across a variety of roles.

He has a deep understanding of the issues facing young people and a deep well of experience from which to draw. To top it all off, he is also a fine photographer whose work has even graced a Violent Femmes album cover!

Andy joins the Bike Collective team after a long career with the State Government, several years of experience with his own domestic IT support business and four years in the construction industry as a Site Supervisor. 

He enjoys outdoor activities including motorcycling, road bike riding and mountain biking - in short, anything with two wheels! Andy enjoys learning new skills and imparting these skills to others. He also hopes to help improve the lives of others through his own life experiences.

Paul is well known to us at the Huon Valley Bike Collective. He has worked with us almost since the start as a bike donations collection volunteer. 

Paul Chilton is a renewable energy engineer and furniture maker with a passion for sustainability. He brings more than 10 years experience in both engineering and furniture making to the Huon Valley Bike Collective. 

When he's not working, Paul loves exploring the world on his bike - one of his favourite experiences was spending six weeks cycling around Iceland! He's excited to combine his skills and passions in a more community-oriented role.

He has completed a Bachelor of Project Management and has more than 15 years’ project management experience.

From 2011 – 2021 Tim was the Director and small business owner at Spacemakers Australia Pty Ltd, a specialised productivity organisation for busy people

Tim has been a Project Manager with 2PM Services since 2016

He was the President of Motor Neurone Disease Tasmania for 10 years, and the Vice President of Motor Neurone Disease Australia for 11 years

Tim’s skills include training, coaching, health information management, project management, senior management, executive board roles, leadership and governance.

She has worked in the University of Tasmania’s Housing and Community Research Unit (HACRU), Institute for the Study of Social Change (ISC)

Julia has strong expertise in project management across a number of large Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute projects. She has also managed a series of smaller projects, including community engagement work and service evaluation work

Julia has taught in the areas of housing policy, housing research, health and wellbeing, volunteering, downshifting, qualitative research and social network analysis at the University of Tasmania.

He has delivered music programs into schools, and was the area Manager for Musiq hub Waikato NZ

He was a Volunteer Ride Leader in Hamilton NZ, leading refugees and recent immigrants on city rides

Account Manager for Bartercard/Eftco for 10 years.

Daniel has a Bachelor of Law and Science, a graduate Diploma of Legal Practice, a Masters of Teaching and a graduate Certificate of Theological Studies.

He is a married father of three, Campus Minister and teacher. Daniel is experienced in enabling and mentoring youth justice action and speaking to young people to encourage and engage them in contemplating life's big questions.

He enjoys playing guitar, singing, swimming, bushwalking, gardening and watching Bluey.

Ellisa completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (Physical Education) at RMIT University before teaching PE in various Primary and Secondary schools in Victoria and Tasmania.

She is married to Chris who is currently the Rector of Lindisfarne Anglican Church. They have 2 daughters who Ellisa has had the privilege of being at home with full time.

Ellisa has also been a committee member for the University of Tasmania Football (Soccer) Club since 2019 and is currently in her 2nd year as President.
